Griffin Silk thread, made in Germany.

Ideal for knotting in between pearls or semi-precious stones, with each package having 2 meter lengths and a wire needle already attached. Having the wire needle built in to the silk thread enables you to use a thicker size of thread than you would be able to if you had to thread it normally, as normal threading results in a doubled thickness going through each bead.

Try to match the thickness of the silk to the size of the hole in your beads. Below is a chart outlining the thicknesses of each size.

Silk cord is a natural fiber and will stretch over time. To help minimize this, unravel all of the silk off the packaging card and stretch out the silk until the bends from the card are no longer visible.

When working with this silk thread, tie your first knot about three to five inches from the very end (opposite from the end that has the needle). That way, if you don’t use up all of your thread in your first project, you will still have the needle attached to whatever string is left for use with your next project.

Please bear in mind, when knotting semi-precious stones or fresh water pearls, that hole sizes can vary greatly - even when dealing with the same size of bead.
